Forthweizen “Including BLØF, Outsiders and the Dutch national team. A day with a golden edge! Wind, a little rain and sunshine… Happy visitors, great artists and a very nice atmosphere. Gelderpop 2024 really had it all on Saturday.

With these words, the organizers Festifairs & The Zoo Events summed up the sixth edition of Gelderpop in the Zeumeren entertainment area in Voorthuizen.
This year’s summer festival attracted around 7,500 visitors, slightly less than last year’s around 8,000. In 2022, there were still around 12,000. Hoop van de Vecht previously told this newspaper on behalf of the organizer that festival ticket sales are declining across the market, because everything has become much more expensive and people are becoming more selective when spending on outings.

Production costs “At the same time, production costs have risen significantly in recent years, so it has become increasingly difficult to cover their expenses financially,” adds Van de Vecht. For this edition, the organizers also had to incur additional costs to rent a large screen for the football match between the Netherlands and Turkey. “We hoped that this would bring in a few more visitors at the last minute, but that didn’t happen. The weather forecast wasn’t good either – lots of wind and some rain instead of summer temperatures of around 25 degrees.”

We go on However, Van de Vecht looks very positively at the sixth edition. “The atmosphere was really good this year and the audience was very mixed. We will continue next year anyway. Next Friday, July 12, the “very early bird sale” of Gelderbob will start at 12 noon on Saturday, July 5, 2025 with tickets of 25 euros via www.gelderpop.nl/tickets. And hopefully this will lay a good foundation for next year. “It’s a very competitive price, so buy your tickets,” says Van de Vecht with a laugh.

the performance Visitors enjoyed performances on the main stage by Zealand pop rock band BLØF, who closed the summer festival, Belgian pop group Clouseau, indie pop group Ronde, “spectacle band” The Dirty Daddies, singer SERA and Nijkerk farm rock band Ditn, who gave the opening act.
