Blackmagic Design, known for DaVinci Resolve, has released the Blackmagic Camera app for Android. This application gives users access to an extensive list of camera functions. The company has already released the iOS version in September 2023.

in press release Blackmagic Design wrote that the app offers an interface similar to the brand’s existing digital cameras. Various camera settings are displayed to users via the head-up display, including frame rate, shutter speed, white balance and ISO value. Each value can be modified by clicking on it. In addition, just like with the iOS app, it is possible to record images in landscape mode when the phone is in portrait mode.

The camera app is compatible with other company software. This makes it possible to save or record images directly to Blackmagic Cloud or DaVinci Resolve for editing. Team members can easily communicate about the project using the built-in chat function.

Blackmagic Camera is free and can be downloaded instantly Via Google Play. According to the Blackmagic Design website, the application is compatible with Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones, although it did not go into details.
