Police in Suriname arrested a 62-year-old Nikiri this week, after his 33-year-old nephew and 25-year-old niece reported threats and public anger.

The nephew informed the Surinamese police that it was a real estate matter, as family members lived on one plot of land, but in separate houses, and the uncle believed that his nephew should not live there.

The uncle allegedly threatened to kill his nephew and his family while drunk, and also indicated that he would sexually assault his nephew’s wife.
