Peter Gillies gives health update on son Mark: 'He's very confused'

Mark Gillies has been out of intensive care for a week, but his recovery is still “step by step”. His father Peter Gillies said in an update. “We are helping him where we can, but as a family we are also facing a difficult time with many concerns.”

According to Peter, everything costs his son a lot of energy. Mark exercises physically, but also mentally. “For example, memory trainers are used, where he has to put things together and they try to make him say and think a lot on his own.”

His family says they are “very proud” of him. “But we also see that he is going through a very difficult time physically and mentally,” Peter says.

severe pneumonia

Gillis, 28, was admitted to hospital in critical condition last month and was found to be suffering from serious pneumonia. The Gillis family would like to thank all the staff who are caring for Mark and “everyone who is thinking of him and showing compassion.” “We get energy from this,” Peter and Wendy conclude.
