The story surfaced this week on social media that the organization responsible for determining the age rating in South Korea has affixed an age on a Red Dead Redemption remake or remake. And let’s be honest, we at Gamekings aren’t waiting for every game to be restored, but an updated version of this great western title coming out tomorrow. JJ then investigated whether we can expect more remakes, remakes, remakes, reboots, or revivals (yes, really, publishers use all the terms) in the near future. We have already revealed the answer: yes.
Remakes and updates fill in the gaps in the list of publisher releases
Understandably, there are currently many remakes and adapters going through it given the current state of the industry. Today’s new Triple A games are 5-6 years old. That was once 3 or 4 years ago. Since the money has to come in anyway, publishers are filling in the gaps between new releases with polished versions of older titles from their back catalogue. After all, it takes 2 to 3 years to make a remake or remake. So we have to learn to live with it. And that’s fine as long as this type of game can approach the quality of Resident Evil IV or Final Fantasy VII.
Restored versions of The Witcher, Splinter Cell, Max Payne & Alone in the Dark, and more
So it makes sense that JJ has found a lot of games that will get a major overhaul in the coming years. Think The Witcher, Splinter Cell, Max Payne, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, Alone in the Dark, and the average gamer will surely be hungry for a refreshing knowledge. A good story never gets old provided you didn’t read that story yesterday, of course. What restoration jobs have we been able to research, do they have potential and when can we expect them? You will get the answer in this video.
