First Samsung phones are now receiving the June update

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Z Fold 5 are the first Samsung phones to receive the June update this morning. Earlier this week, the devices also received the “mystery update” that still contains the old security patch.

Galaxy S24, S22, and Z Flip/Fold 5 updated in June 2024

It was a bit surprising that Samsung has yet to update its phone with the June security patch. We noticed this when a mysterious update appeared on several Galaxy phones and tablets earlier this week. The mysterious thing is that the update did not contain a new patch.

Today finally marks the European start of the June correction rollout. The Galaxy S24 and S22 series are the first to get its role. So, the second update is rolling out this week, bringing the firmware version S92*BXXS2AXEF to the S24 series, and S90*BXXSAEXEC to the S22 series. The Z Fold 5 has F946BXXS2CXE9 firmware out of the box, while the Z Flip 5 has F731BXXS2CXE9 firmware. The “S” in the version numbering confirms: Yes, this is a real security update.

Addition: Also on Galaxy S21 (G99*BXXSBGXED), Z Flip 3 and 4 (F711BXXS8HXE1 And F721BXXS7FXEA) and Z Fold 3 and 4 (F926BXXS7HXF2 and F936BXXS7FXEA) The update is now available.

The June patch consists of about 37 fixes for the Android operating system itself. Samsung is adding up to 22 additional security improvements to One UI. These improvements are very subtle this month. Consider closing vulnerabilities in the dialer, clipboard, and service that manages battery statistics.

The June update is now available immediately on Unbranded Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, and Z Fold 5, and on Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. You can get the update via Settings -> Software Update -> Download and Install Immediately in the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of Europe.

We wouldn’t be surprised if the June update also hits the Galaxy S23 series later today.

Will the update with the June patch also be rolling out to your phone today? Let us know below!

(Thanks Marinos, Peter, Bram and others!)
