Student Government Association (SGA) elections at Sam Houston State are a big deal and the results are in.
The new president of the student body is Briauana Augustus and the new vice president is David Eller.
Senior Carissa Gandy said she was excited to get the opportunity to elect the next executive board.
“I think this is a fantastic way to bring the Sam Houston students together,” Gandy said. “We each get a chance to voice what we want to happen on this campus.”
Students received emails in order to vote.
Senior Christine Parker said the elections really benefited her in the years she has been here.
“It really makes you feel like there is students on campus who want to help you and the school,” Parker said. “And who really put in the effort to make Sam Houston State a better place.”
SGA is about giving back to the campus and the students. It is really an impacting decision that students make when they vote for who goes into office.
