“Dancing with the Stars”

The “P” may not stand for performer, but on Thursday nights, Master P does just that, from the jive and cha-cha to the quickstep and foxtrot, P. Miller dances his way into his fans’ hearts. The music industry mogul, along with his professional dance partner, Ashly DelGrosso, manage to synchronize the rise-and-fall motions of the quickstep with their rise-and-fall ratings.

Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli resemble the famous “American Idol” trio, but these judges are more concerned with the dancer’s performance rather than their technique. This season’s “Dancing with the Stars” started with 10 couples, but the couple with the lowest score from the judges and viewers is eliminated from the competition each week.

The couples, comprised of one professional dancer and one celebrity dancer, perform ballroom and Latin American dances, and their scores are divided evenly between those of the judges and viewers.

“The battle of the divas,” as Tonioli has referred to the popular ABC Thursday night show, has unpredictable outcomes and behind-the-scenes footage on the couples.

Stacy Keibler, seen on “The Legs of the WWE,” and 98 Degrees singer Drew Lachey have brought the competition to new heights. With partner Cheryl Burke, Lachey has proven to be a successful and competitive dancer, while Stacy and Tony Dovolani consistently receive high praises from the judges.

The ultimate dance-off will determine who takes home the trophy but in the meantime, viewers seem to be drawn towards Master P’s wacky dance choreography and cigar aficionado George Hamilton.

“Dancing with the Stars” airs Thursdays at 7 p.m. on ABC.
