The office of multicultural and international student services will present the “I Love Diversity” campaign and display at the second floor in Lowman Student Center between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. from Feb. 1 – 4.
M.I.S.S. is giving students and faculty the chance to write about what they plan to do about diversity for the next year.
Jennifer Roberts, coordinator of M.I.S.S., believes this activity helps students and faculty members realize they should be doing a little bit more to break other cultures and international students and faculty on campus. “The primary purpose is to show how SHSU students and faculty are currently and will embrace diversity at Sam Houston State and make the culture better,” added Roberts.
Roberts hopes as many students and faculties as possible will attend and share their ideas on diversity. “This is a passive program that will not take a long time. This is a program for people to come to just write about what they think,” said Roberts.
The ideas and plans on diversity written by the students and faculty will be on a large piece of paper at the same place next week so everyone will be able to see them.
The office of M.I.S.S has had good response in previous diversity programs, said Roberts.
