The SHSU orchestra will give a preview of their performances for their European trip tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Killinger Auditorium.

“We (the orchestra) are ready for this concert and this trip,” said Rachel Glover, viola player in the orchestra. “We have worked really hard and I am impressed with our abilities.”

Glover said the orchestra had taken the concert very seriously, and would give a passionate performance even if few people attend.

Glover’s younger sister, June Glover, who is a violist in the orchestra, believes people should come to get a taste of European and American music. “The orchestra will be playing pieces from Puccini, an Italian composer, to John Williams, who composed Star Wars,” she added.

The orchestra will be traveling in Europe from Nov. 5-14 playing in various churches and cathedrals in Hungry, Czech Republic and Austria.

“This trip is going to be so great because it’s not like every day you get to go to Europe. I want to see the architecture, especially the gothic churches. It will be even better when we get to play in these cathedrals,” said June Glover.
